-Went to watch a surf competition with the fam today.

-Rode a fake surfboard. It's as easy as it looks.

-The number of creepers at the beach is unbelievable. I'm pretty sure it's their niche. This is why I learned from a young age to tell them that my name is Shaniqua (My alter ego, I guess?) and that I dropped my phone in the toilet the other day. If they persist/get belligerent, "Why don't you give me your number and I'll call you when I get a new phone." It's easier than memorizing that Rejection Hotline number, ladies (and gentlemen).

-Saw a van with a sticker that said 'No Kooks'. Thought it was quite profound and great.

-My beagle baby tried to eat a cigarette at the beach. I had to kick it away and bury it. A metaphor for life? I just wanted to write that rhetorical question to see what you guys thought of in your heads. Teehee.

-I can't wear these shorts without thinking I'm Hannah Horvath from Girls"And I definitely, definitely don’t care about putting on appropriate pants because one can really go through their whole life wearing shorty-shorts and offend almost nobody." But actually, that is a lie. Because apparently Lena Dunham offends quite a handful of viewers, but she doesn't care because she is the coolest of the cool with Golden Globes and a comical Twitter to prove it. I wish she was my spirit animal.

-I really want to watch The Spectacular Now and The Bling Ring. When I watched the trailer for The Spectacular Now, I teared up. In the words of the late Roger Ebert, "We have gone through senior year with these two. We have known them. We have been them." I confess, I connect a lot to the film, which is probably why it moves me so much. It's absolutely frightening to lose yourself in another person. And incredibly exhilarating. Because that person changes you, for better or for worse. Your soul was touched. As you age, you won't remember a handful of the snapshots of your life, but you will remember who made you question everything you ever believed in and love without reason; love destructively madly deeply beautifully. I had to walk away from my Sutter years ago because of the toxicity of our relationship, but I don't regret anything. Because for a few years in my life, I had someone who made me feel. It's so rare and magical to meet someone who makes you feel so strongly. It's what makes life worth living. For a small second minute hour day month year you felt and connected to another human being in a way that many people never get to experience for their whole lives. And that's, that's spectacular

-MUSIC: Dancing On My Own by Robyn (Try to listen to this song without dancing.); Up in Arms by Observer Drift; Settle by Two Door Cinema Club; Feel Again by One Republic (In case you're wondering what that last song is in The Spectacular Now trailer.)
