Black & White Colors

Something about the impending storm

Something about the Southern California dialect and how it reminds me of

the salt in my veins

and

the way you said, "I'm going to miss you, Anna" 

Something about dots over faces

masks over faces

and the implosion of sugar between the crevices 

where our shadows hid 

Something about the bareness of our words

Something about the irony of candidness 

and how being filterless didn't stop us from

swallowing the letters on the tip of our tongues

Something about the sentences we never finished 

Something about nothing

but vacancy here 

Something about the shoes we filled and emptied

Something about the way things fall apart 

Something about how I still can't erase
