Confession: Dressing for the weather is not my forte. You guys are probably thinking, "How is she wearing a dress when the weather has reached apocalyptic levels of cold?!" That is a very good question, my dear readers. 1) These photos were snapped on a two digit degree day. I think 20 something degrees, so it wasn't as cold as it is currently. 2) Dressing for the weather is not my forte. I have a weird and inexplicable tendency to wear summer-ish clothes during the winter and winter-ish clothes during the summer. Perhaps it's the rebellious blood in my veins, but this quirk of mine does me 0 favors, so I am currently trying very hard to dress in weather-appropriate garb.

The frigid temperatures, fortunately, give me an excuse to plop my fuzzy Russian hat on my head. I am a teensy bit Russian, so just repping my extremely minimal Russian ancestry! It really does a good job of keeping my head and ears warm, which is a necessity in polar vortex times. Thus, I full-heartedly recommend purchasing one of these babies. It is also just so outrageous and y'all know I love the kooky. Because I hate wearing pants, I wore my leather overall dress, so I could wear tights. I think overall dresses look better with tighter-fitting attire, which is precisely why I teamed mine with a striped long-sleeved crop top. For a pop of color, I threw on my bright red boots. And, of course, I slipped into my faux fur jacket because frostbite is my enemy.

Side Note: Wish I got detail shots of my rad love/hate ring. I got it from a vintage thrift shop in California for 8 bucks. You can flip the heart to change it from love to hate and vice versa. The perfect accessory to wear when you want to let the world know your feelings without having to verbalize them yourself.

Side Note #2: If you're in awe over the sharp quality of these images, it's because they were snapped by professional photographer, Nicole Toczauer. Google her to see more of her photographs. They are amazing!

Side Note #3: I'm collaborating with DealsPlus, so check out their sick online shopping tool, shopaholics! Click here

Side Note #4: The lovely Angie Sinova of SimplySinova recently featured me on her blog. Read more here if ya want to creep on my thoughts about fashion and style inspiration.

Side Note #5: Free download of Lana Del Rey's "Once Upon a Dream"

And on that note...

If your school is closed for two consecutive snow days, like mine, I recommend blasting these tunes and curling up with a good book and a cup of tea. This is definitely what I'll be doing because there is no way I'm venturing outside. #hibernating
