Yesterday, I arrived at the airport 8 hours before my boarding time and I decided that I didn't want to wait in O'Hare for hours on end, so I took the train to Logan Square to kill time in one of my favorite neighborhoods. I'm usually a planner, but I think the best adventures come from spontaneity and some sort of Kerouac-inspired madness kept telling me that I needed to make this trip. So I bought a train ticket, got off at the Logan Square stop, ate lunch at Gaslight Coffee Roasters, and walked around snapping photos of the street art. It was the best spontaneous decision ever. I wouldn't have wanted to spend my last day in the Midwest anywhere else.
