Then I cry it out and the next day I get my period and I'm like, 'Oh yeah that's why I feel like this.' But really, as an entrepreneur, you run into so many obstacles, but it's those very obstacles that make you grow and make you into a better businesswoman. At the end of the day you're going to pull through because you love it."

One of the Bunch

One of my biggest frustrations with publications these days is the thought process behind running a story. Is the person popular? Will the piece get a lot of hits/views/reads? Now, I know. I know. There is an unavoidable (and necessary) commercial component to all major magazines, newspapers, blogs etc. So yes. These questions need to be considered. But this checklist often results in good stories being left untold. Which irks me. Creativity shouldn't be dictated by data, by money, by one's number of followers on social media. And yet, here we are. 

Fortunately, there are magazines, like Bunch, that give the voice back to the artist, whether or not he/she has a large Instagram following or loads of dolla dolla bills (y'all). The stories in here are unfiltered. They are real. They are honest. And they are beautiful. 

I was lucky enough to write three articles for Issue 6 of this mag and definitely recommend purchasing a copy if you're into local art and interesting/thought-provoking/sartorially-savvy humans who are creating mesmerizing visuals and sounds. 

These stories are worth reading.
