My best friends are back in town! I've said this before, but my best friends from high school are still my best friends in life, so it's always a joyous occasion when we reunite. Since I work 9-5 on weekdays, we played during the weekend. On Saturday, Carrie, Autumn, and I ate dinner at In N' Out, went to an art show (slash got creeped on by creepers #ew), and got ice cream afterwards. Then, on Sunday, Carrie and I went on one of our classic photo adventures around town.
My outfit for this escapade was inspired by Wes Anderson. I found the above plaid dress in my mum's closet whilst searching for business casual clothes for work. When I saw it, I immediately thought of Moonrise Kingdom. I could totally see Suzy wearing a dress like this, and I loved her style in the film, so I snagged the dress for myself. Since the dress has a vintage feel, I decided to add a contemporary spin by plopping on my Ain't No Wifey beanie. I like wearing beanies with dresses because I think the edginess of the hat takes my look out of the too-girly zone. For shoes, I opted for my Oxfords to match the style of the dress and added slouchy socks to create a layered look for an extra pinch of detail.
After our photo adventure, Carrie bought fish tacos and I bought a California burrito and we munched on delicious Mexican food whilst sitting on the beach as the sun set. Nothing beats the California sky at dusk. I will never get tired of watching the sun sink into the sea. It's absolutely magical.

P.S. My favorite human is coming to visit me in ONE WEEK and I couldn't be more excited. I've been counting down the days for a while and now there are only 7 days left, but this week seriously feels like the longest week ever. I literally cannot wait for next Monday, ahhhh. Sorry for acting like a squealing teenage girl, but I've missed this alien child a lot. We're gonna collab on some art projects when he's here, so stay tuned for some creative posts!
