In Lana Del Rey's Ride she says, "My mother told me I had a chameleon soul...who belonged to no one, who belonged to everyone. Who had nothing, who wanted everything, with a fire for every experience and an obsession for freedom that terrified me to the point that I couldn't even talk about it, and pushed me to a nomadic point of madness that both dazzled and dizzied me."
Ever since I heard these words, they have stuck with me because I've always felt the most at 'home' on the road. Perhaps it's from a childhood of spending summers and breaks traveling around the US by car (I've been to 48 out of the 50 states). Some sort of conditioning brought about by frequency? Whatever it is, there's nothing that beats being out on the open road for me.
I love driving under the vast, empty sky where everything is beautiful and nothing hurts. It's where I feel free.
